Two big names in commercial real estate are diving into Atlanta's industrial market.

Transwestern Development Services and CA Ventures are each seeking state approval for big-box distribution centers on the fringes of Metro Atlanta.

Transwestern is planning a 953K SF industrial park off Peeples Valley Road in Cartersville, 50 miles northwest of Downtown Atlanta, that will include a total of four buildings, according to an application seeking approval with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. DCA regularly reviews projects that have a regional impact.

Transwestern is scheduled to complete the complex by 2024.

CA Ventures, which is in talks with the owners of The Cheetah to buy its Midtown property, is planning a two-building, 705K SF distribution center off Interstate 986 and Falcon Parkway in Flowery Branch, according to the state application. The developer is planning on delivering the project, which is roughly 50 miles northeast of Atlanta, by 2023.
