Amazon Makes Braselton Plans Official

In a deal you first read here, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal has made Amazon's newest big-box plans official.

Amazon is heading to Braselton with a 600k SF fulfillment center and 500 new jobs, according to Gov. Deal's office. As we reported, Amazon plans to take all of Broadway Distribution Center, a spec warehouse by TPA Group. The Governor released the statement today that Amazon will use the facility to ship large items such as household décor, sporting equipment and gardening tools. The world's largest online retailer currently employs more than 1,500 people in Georgia. The Georgia Department of Economic Development's Brittany Holtzclaw represented the company with the Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce and the Jackson County Industrial Development Authority.
