Hero of Atlanta's Job Wars Becomes The Enemy

Atlanta

Charlotte just upped the ante on that city's economic development war with Atlanta by hiring the City of Atlanta's former economic development guru. The Wilbert Group's Tony Wilbert notes in his blog that former InvestAtlanta head Bill Cronin (pictured back in the day with JLL's Gregg Metcalf and Georgia Department of Economic Development's Amanda Shailendra) has been named to head economic development for Charlotte (he's been heading the American Red Cross in SC for the past few months). Some of Cronin's successes include Athenahealth's move to Ponce City Market and PulteGroup's HQ move from Illinois. And with his knowledge on Atlanta, Tony notes that could give Charlotte a further edge in the race for jobs.
