Atlanta-based insurance underwriter RSUI is keeping its HQ in Buckhead. (Now what are we gonna do with all this bubble wrap?)
RSUI has
renewed its lease for
133k SF at The Plaza (formerly known as Resurgens Plaza) through 2025. We found the team responsible for the deal: Cushman & Wakefield's
Travis Jackson, RSUI's
Kathy Aberson, PM Realty Group's
Dean Giordano (yes, it is!), C&W's
Addison Meriwether, and PMRG's
Bill Weghorst. It evaluated other space, but
"it was a small net," Kathy says.
The deal
couldn't have come at a better time for PMRG, which has been marketing the building for CWCapital since it
foreclosed on the 400k SF Buckhead tower perched over the Lenox MARTA station back in 2011. Securing RSUI's renewal keeps the building at
58% leased, Bill tells us. (That leaves plenty of room at the moment for impromptu yoga.) Bill says CWCapital will eventually sell the building, but the first objective was to
renovate and
rebrand the tower to The Plaza and then
concentrate on backfilling the space.
