| Gene Kansas Commercial Real Estate and Dewberry Capital Corp. have parted from a JV announced in March. Gene tells Bisnow, ?the companies mutually agreed to return to their roots." This morning we stopped by Dewberry?s HQ at One Peachtree Pointe, where a company official tells us it was a mutually agreed upon decision and both parties felt that they could be more productive as separate entities. What it all means: Gene and his company will focus on its traditional third-party business, with Dewberry doing brokerage efforts in-house. It also means Gene Kansas CRE is back to being wholly independent, and recently closed its eighth deal since the JV ended. The company brokered the lease for Urban Body Fitness to relocate into Amsterdam Walk, Halpern's mixed-use project off of Amsterdam Avenue. Gene brokered for the landlord while Graham & Arthur's John Graham repped the tenant. |
