Anna successfully passed legislation named after her daughter, Ava, who had been diagnosed with autism. “Ava’s Law” creates access to therapy for autistic individuals in Georgia. Recognized consistently for performance excellence and contributions to the autism field, Anna has 15+ years of experience in developing policy, and advocating at the state and federal level. Additionally, she has created marketing strategies and has a vast knowledge of payor landscapes nationally. Her knowledge as a parent who experienced the struggles of obtaining services her child needed has allowed her to develop a streamlined approach for families to accessing quality care timely. Anna developed Accelerated Delegated Credentialing. A business line of BHCOE that provides contracting and credentialing services for behavioral health companies. Anna is currently leading BHCOE's 3 lines of business: accreditation, contracting and credentialing and the autism data registry platform. Anna’s strength is developing lasting relationships that create access to quality patient centered healthcare. Her perseverance and knowledge in government relations and business development has lead to thousands of lives accessing care nationally.

Mr. Hackney brings more than 20 years of diverse healthcare development and construction management experience on projects ranging from $2 million to $600 million. In this role, he is responsible for leading and successfully executing on design management, construction management, permitting, market analysis, site selection, and tenant fit-out within healthcare and mixed-use environments. Mr. Hackney is a certified Design-Build Professional through the Design Build Institute of America, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a certified Healthcare Constructor through the American Hospital Association. He also holds his Healthcare Construction Certificate through the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE). He received his Master of Business Administration from Liberty University and his undergraduate degree from Fort Hays State University.

I am a top-performing Operations Executive with extensive experience in healthcare administration. I am highly skilled in directing cross-functional teams through all facets of daily operations, ensuring adherence to overarching strategies, policies, procedures, and objectives. I also have a proven ability in evaluating existing operations to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and risks, innovating process improvements to optimize workflow, maintain internal controls, and drive profitability. As well, I am recognized for cultivating a robust internal talent pipeline through training and professional development, fostering improved employee engagement and retention.

Thirty+ years of professional experience as senior healthcare executive, insurance executive, commercial real estate development principal, founder and chief executive of five communications companies, managing partner of a boutique investment banking firm, institutional account manager in the securities industry, and independent management consultant.

Ted provides oversight of our healthcare portfolio, maintains healthcare client and design partner relations, and manages our project management and support staff. While working his way up the project management ranks to Vice President, Healthcare and Life Science, Ted consistently delivered successful projects to his clients. Ted focuses his efforts on process improvement, emerging healthcare construction trends, and most importantly client satisfaction. Outside of work, Ted stays busy raising his three sons alongside his wife and supermom Katie and enjoys cheering for any Chicago pro sports team.

As behavioral and mental health practice leader, Brian has a deep understanding of current research and trends in mental health design and uses his expertise to create innovative, research-based solutions that improve the patient experience in healthcare environments. Brian has served as the mental health expert on numerous projects around the world, holding roles in planning, design, and consulting for inpatient, outpatient, community, and crisis services, guiding project teams towards improved outcomes in mental health environments. At HDR, Brian leads the behavioral health design studio, introducing current trends and design strategies to a broader team and works with smaller focus groups to discuss and develop strategies to improve the mental healthcare environment for patients and staff. Brian has presented on the topic of behavioral and mental health at multiple conferences around the country and is a consistent contributor to thought leadership in his field. Brian enjoys finding opportunities to share his passion and expertise with the next generation of architects and designers in his local community. He is an active participant in the FGI Health Guidelines Revision Committee, focusing on behavioral health design. He is an adjunct associate professor at the University of Kansas, has served as a design critic and juror for multiple design studios focused on mental health, and contributes to an AIA advocacy committee on mental health design. He mentors colleagues throughout HDR as well as architecture and design students at numerous universities including University of Kansas, University of Minnesota, and Rochester Institute of Technology.
