Over the past few years, the city of Atlanta has faced an affordable housing shortage. For many Atlanta residents, this meant spending a large percentage of their income on rent. Now that the coronavirus has lead to an increase in unemployment, particularly in service industries, the demand for affordable housing only continues to grow. As a result of this economic damage, there is also concern that there will be less money available to finance new construction. How do industry leaders plan to fill this void in new affordable housing development?
Join Bisnow for a virtual discussion with Atlanta Housing Authority President and CEO Eugene Jones Jr. and HUD Regional Administrator Denise Cleveland-Leggett to hear how they plan to preserve pre-existing affordable housing options, create more mixed-income housing properties, public-private partnerships and Atlanta's Affordable Housing Plan.
There will also be plenty of time for questions.
