Thursday, May 12, Bisnow Media is thrilled that co-founder Elliott Bisnow will be honored by the Junior Tennis Champions Center, where he trained, along with tennis great Jim Courier. JTCC's annual fundraising gala is at the Swedish Ambassador's residence, with cocktails, great Swedish BBQ, and a fun, casual setting. All proceeds support free tennis & academic instruction for under-served DC kids.  Tickets are $400 here, which all goes to the Center. For sponsorship packages, including tennis rackets and court-side box seats at the US Open, Ray Benton will customize a package rbenton@jtcc.org or 301-779-8000 x 102. Saturday, April 30, 12:00-8:00 PM, the 7th annual Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival will celebrate spring and community as thousands listen from noon to dark. Over 40 bands will play on six stages on a beautiful island in the Anacostia River behind RFK Stadium. Benefits Living Classrooms, dozens of bands will play all afternoon at DC's biggest & best folk festival, headlined by Spirit Family, Reunion, & our personal fave Magic Giant at 5:40pm. Also top food trucks, free kayaking, giveaways, kids activities.

12:00 – 10:00 PM, DC Wine Fest! Spring Edition at Long View Gallery, 1234 9th St NW. Premium wine samples, live entertainment. Pricing and times vary, info.  

1:00 – 9:00 PM, DC Brau 5th Anniversary Festival, 3178-B Bladensburg Rd NE. Enjoy an all-day music and beer festival at the brewery headlined by Austin-based rockers The Sword. Admission includes concert only. Beer tickets $5 each. $45/advanced or $60/door, $200/VIP includes catered barbecue and unlimited beer, info.

2:00 – 6:00 PM, Porch Fest 2016, 2300 Rhode Island Ave NE. Local porches and stoops are transformed into stages for an afternoon of music, dance, poetry and more. Free rain or shine! Sign up to be a host, info.
