Bridget Everett!

Friday we went to The Bentzen Ball Presents: Bridget Everett at The Lincoln Theatre. The event was part of the Brightest Young Things-produced, eighth annual Bentzen Ball Comedy Festival, curated by Tig Notaro. Named for Ollie Bentzen, a Danish man who allegedly laughed himself to death during a screening of the film A Fish Called Wanda, the festival featured comedy shows all throughout DC this weekend. Here, Brightest Young Things founder Svetlana Legetic with comedians Tig and Bridget Everett.

Opening for Bridget (snapped above) were Michael Ian Black (from Another Period, The Jim Gaffigan Show and Wet Hot American Summer) and Saturday Night Live cast member Melissa Villaseñor. Bridget has been called "the most exciting performer" in New York City on the cover of the Village Voice, and "raw and riotous" by The New York Times. Her stand-up act included cringe-worthy musical numbers, most of them involving what she would like to do with certain members of the audience.

Travis Holler and Alfredo Flores contributed to this issue.
