Sips & Suppers!

Saturday we went to the 8th annual Sips & Suppers to support DC Central Kitchen and Martha's Table at the Newseum, rescheduled a week due to the blizzard.

The evening started with a VIP lounge where guests received swag bags filled with treats and a cookbook. Bayou Bakery Chef David Guas signed autographs; we snapped him, right, with Perkins+Will's Diana Horvat, Whitney Pipkin, DCCK's Alex Moore, and Martha's Table's Martin Booker.

Local chefs displayed bites of their favorite menu item. We loved The Hamilton's foie gras with black truffles, Tico's dates and chorizo skewers, and Indique's Indian street food. Here, Daikaya's Karen Park, Nick Cesar, Saul Herrera and Chef Katsuya Fukushima, who served tara-miso-lata, white miso on a grilled pita.

The Aztec Sun band got the party going as guests visited mixologists in the party-vators (bars in elevators); we sipped Jack Rose's amari, CIRCA's old fashioned, and Buffalo & Bergen "wanna be a baller" cocktails.
