We went to the Newseum Nights: Go For Gold celebration of the Olympics. More than 1,000 guests took part in this summer bash that hailed the US Olympians as they compete for gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Here, Spark Career Strategy's Stephanie Goetsch, Newseum's Sonya Gavankar and Grant Thornton LLP's Christina Thomas.

The party featured Brazilian food specials, like steak and chicken skewers and cheesy bread, an open bar with beer, wine and capirinhas, the native cocktail of Brazil, plus entertainment from Batala Washington, an all-women Afro-Brazilian band. Guests also had special after-hours access to all Newseum galleries.

In true Olympic spirit, attendees got to test their athletic prowess with games and activities, such as push up challenges, basketball shooting contests, heavy ball toss, corn hole, and the chance to design their own gold medal. Here, attorney Greg Lennon, physician assistant Liz Myers and Obadal Filler Mac Leod & Klein's Ryan Poteet.
