JDRF Hope Gala!

Saturday night, we went to the 16th annual DC Hope Gala at the National Building Museum. We snapped Inturact's Christina Hatfield, Integrated Dermatology of K Street's Victoria Bennis, Teknion Data Solutions' Victoria Wilson and Exelon Corp's Todd Wilson.

The event included a cocktail reception, a multi-course dinner, silent and live auctions, and JDRF’s signature Fund A Cure program, during which contributions may be made directly to Type 1 Diabetes research. The evening concluded with an after-party with live entertainment provided by Liquid Pleasure. Premier items up for auction include a Hamilton Experience and a Havana Nights Cuban Vacation. More than 700 guests attended this year’s gala with proceeds from the event going towards research and treatments for T1D. Here, Nan Walsh and her husband, JDRF Rappaport Lifetime Service Award winner Martin D. "Art" Walsh. Walsh is a founding shareholder at Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley & Walsh and has hosted the JDRF golf outing for the last 19 years with this year's event raising more than $65k for T1D research.

At the gala, John Brady was presented with the JDRF Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Chapter Honoree Award for his outstanding passion and commitment to JDRF and its mission to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat Type 1 diabetes and its complications. Here, JDRF Hope Gala co-chair Tom Faries and honoree Brady, who is also chancellor and former chairman of JDRF's International Board of Directors.
