Jazz on Jackson Place!
Last night we also went to the White House Historical Association's Jazz on Jackson Place at the Decatur House. We snapped WHHA president Stewart McLaurin with artist Kari Kant, who debuted her acrylic painting of the White House. It took six months of sculpting, sanding, drilling and carving to create the 3D canvas work.
200 guests enjoyed the perfect weather under a tent in the Decatur House courtyard. Here, Liberty Mutual's Gloria Harrison, and RSVP Catering's Candice Lang and Alexandria Smith, who provided the delicious hors d'oeuvres of tenderloin wrapped in asparagus, moo shu rolls, Caribbean chicken skewers and sweet potato ham biscuits.
The Jonathan Parker Ensemble jazz group kicked off the WHHA's 10th season of jazz, food and history summer concerts. Here, Fu Associates' Kristin Abkemeier, Lockheed Martin's Owen Griffing, UL LLC's Karen Grunstra, Michelle Spafford and Obsidian Analysis' John Ransom and Christian Lowry.
Guests also got to tour the historic 200-year-old Decatur House after the reception. Here, Josha Jordan, DOC's Mike Tu, Rachel Redfern, Trinity University's Faith Pippin, IRS's Jason Bumiller and DHHS' Jasmine Plummer.
