We went to the Heart's Delight Grand Tasting reception at The Ritz-Carlton DC. Heart's Delight is a four-day food and wine celebration to benefit the American Heart Association. The grand tasting brings together the best wineries and top chefs from around the world for the final night. Fruth Family Foundation's Alex Hesse and Savannah Kochinke bookend Colby Red Wines' Lisa and Colby Groom, who was the Stand Up For Your Heart speaker of the evening. Colby spoke about his heart challenges at such a young age and how he was inspired to make the Colby red wine with his winemaker father to donate proceeds to heart research.
We enjoyed tasty bites of Masseria's foienolli, a cannoli with foie gras mousse, pistachio and black truffles, Centrolina's carbonara frittata, and food from special guest chef Graham Elliot, who served his milk and honey dish with burrata, arugula, almonds and honeycomb.
