Butterfly Bash!

Friday, we went to the 2016 Fair Chance Butterfly Bash at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.

Fair Chance is a nonprofit committed to improving the lives of children in DC’s most underserved communities. We snapped Grant Makers for Effective Organizations’ Heather Peeler, who is the Fair Chance board chair, Accenture’s Ted Kubit and McLaughlin Ryder Investments’ Eleanor Maguire.

Since 2002, Fair Chance has worked with more than 100 DC nonprofits serving a collective 80,000 children. Within five years of working with Fair Chance, their partner nonprofits realize a 62% median increase in number of children served and a 101% median increase in revenue. The Fair Chance Butterfly Bash had more than 700 guests and 50 corporate sponsors for an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music and dancing. Here, Fair Chance executive director Gretchen Van der Veer, event emcee and host of Fox 5’s Good Day DC Paul Wharton, Fair Chance founder Amanda Marshall with Debbi and Ernie Jarvis, who were honored for their commitment to community initiatives and dedication to youth-serving nonprofits in the area.
