Esther, Sweet Esther!
Tuesday evening, we headed to the National Press Club's Bloomberg Room for a special reception for the upcoming opera "Esther, Sweet Esther."
We snapped local entrepreneur Quin Woodward Pu with the operatic musical's producers, Wendy and Jeremiah Ginsberg, who were on hand to detail their work on the upcoming performance.
Guests in attendance were treated to a variety of musical performances from local opera singers who will be featured in the musical. Here, opera singer Megan Crowder performs one of the featured songs.
The musical tells the story of Queen Esther, a Jewish woman who became the Queen of Persia and conquered the man who tried to destroy her race. Here, Washington Life Associate Publisher John Arundel joins producer Elizabeth Webster and actor and producer Vince De Paul following the remarks and performances.
Guests enjoyed an open bar and appetizers during the reception while mingling with performers and the producers. Here philanthropist Shahin Mafi joins Jan Du Plain and venture capitalist Curtis Bell.
The operatic musical will debut on Sunday, July 30, at the National Press Club. Here, photographer Jane Pennewell joins Ghanaian activist Kwame Danquah and Gisele Moukarzel.
