Noche de Gala!
Last night we went to the Mayflower for the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts Noche de Gala.
The Hispanic-American community joined for a night of celebration and to promote Latino talent. We snapped US Election Assistance Commission’s Bert Benavides, Obama administration’s Anne Alonzo, designer Veronica Valencia, and her husband former Mexican Ambassador Arturo Sarukhan.
DCPS’ Shajena Erazo, Kaiman Bros Media’s Emily Salazar, Latino Magazine’s Dalia Smith, NBC 4 anchor Erika Gonzalez, and Lockheed Martin Communications’ Donna Savarese. During the dinner program, guests enjoyed performances by up-and-coming artists; the highlight was an award to Grammy-winning artist Juanes for his philanthropic efforts to promote the arts.
The Embassy of Spain’s Polimnia Rossin, EFE News’ Emilio Sanchez, and AJC Latino’s Dina Siegel Vann. Many national Hispanic leaders mingled with the DC crowd during the VIP reception.
Created in 1997, the foundation has helped provide scholarships to hundreds of Hispanic students pursuing an education in the arts. Here Joint Force HQ's Mauricio Melgares, consultant Raquel Salinas, G2C2 Media's Carlo Castillo, and AARP's Monica Cortes.
Caraway Group CEO Yolanda Caraway, HOPE's Carrie Lopez and Helen Torres, and Molera Alvarez Group's Ruben Alvarez.
