MS Awards!
Last night we also headed to the annual MS Awards Reception hosted by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society National Capital Chapter at Chef Geoff’s in Tysons Corner. The friendly competition for the MS Achiever of the Year award allowed those with MS, friends, family, and supporters to share their stories and thank donors. We snapped co-chair Washington Capitals center Brooks Laich with Walk MS’s Debbie Schultz and Dell’s Robert Kotz.
The other co-chair, ‘Skins’ linebacker Ryan Kerrigan, is surrounded by MS Society's Robert Campbell and Christian Powell, and by board member Karlyn Lothery.
Funds raised go to research for a cure, and help for MS patients with financial assistance, caregivers and transportation. Here, award winner Gena Turner, who raised over $5,000, is flanked by board members Charles Byrd and her mom Monica Turner.
Chef Geoff’s provided hummus, buffalo chicken skewers, marinara meatballs, beer, and wine, while guests mingled and took pictures with Ryan and Brooks. Here, Rick Franklin, NTA’s Ted Wanstrath, and his wife Katie.
