18th Street Lounge!

Last night we went to the first event of what will be an epic celebration of the 20th anniversary of the 18th Street Lounge.

The international hub for live music, DJs and the venue where Thievery Corporation and ESL Music were created is putting on a four-day party to celebrate two decades of infamous parties and people. We snapped owners Yama Jewayni, Eric Hilton, who's also one of Thievery's co-founders, and Farid Nouri.

Guests enjoyed a complimentary happy hour with specialty drinks, delicious hors d’oeuvres and, of course, DJs spinning. Here, Population Council’s Katie Unthank, the Lounge’s manager, Yonas Mulugeta, artist Dukes, and the Lounge's event coordinator, Linda Lindskog.

The Gold Room was filled with people who have shaped what the Lounge is today, from the first bar, with the original bartenders who are all part of the family. Here, Thievery Corp’s Giamma Conti, HHS’s and former ESL bartender Christine Moritz, Chris Blakely, and the Lounge's own Enea Diotaluti.
