Tomorrow's Annual Used Clothing Drive

Placeholder

Tomorrow kicks off annual used clothing drive run by the nonprofit Gifts for the Homeless. More than 100 law firms, government lawyers, in-house legal departments and vendors will collect, sort, bag and deliver nearly 4,000 bags of clothing and other items to nearly 70 shelters and homeless service providers. Donations are welcome on Friday 8am to 6:30pm and Saturday 8:30am at the Portals III building, which has been donated for the 10th year by Republic Properties. Snapped here, the Hogan Lovells team makes a delivery in '12, in an electric Ford car (we featured the car's unveiling in Hogan Lovells' lobby back in '11).

Foley & Lardner securities litigation partner Joe Edmondson is in his ninth year chairing the drive. (Above, right, he's snapped during last year's clothing drive.) “While our city is dedicated to ending chronic homelessness by 2020, the near-term, real-time need for clothing, blankets and other necessities remains critical," he says. "By joining together, the legal community of greater Washington can go a long way toward meeting that need.”
