Update: Best Startup in the World?

Last month we told you about a DC startup headed to Seoul to compete in the Startup Nations International Summit’s World Startup Competition. We finally caught up with Piper founder Morgan Giddings, whose company, which digitizes and stores retail receipts, didn’t win but she got a glimpse into what other startups are doing. Top prize ($100k) went to Agrivi, a London-based company that created farm management software. Other impressive competitors included a company that developed a lamp powered by saltwater and another that created a digital alternative for sheet music. Morgan says it was fascinating to realize a common thread among startups all over the world: they're all trying to improve everyday life.
