The Bethesda-based firm promoted Brant Snyder to CEO, Kelli Brooks to chief investment officer and Alan Lederman to chief development officer. Along with Chief Financial Officer Jill Boyd, this new four-person C-suite will take over day-to-day management of the company.

Vicki Davis, Lois Fried and Scott Nordheimer, who co-founded Urban Atlantic in 1998, will remain managing partners but shift from running daily operations to providing “governance, strategic guidance and mentorship,” the company announced.

“This transition reflects our intentional and careful planning,” Davis said in a statement. “We are incredibly proud of this team and confident in their ability to lead Urban Atlantic into its next phase, expanding our reach, deepening our impact, and capturing opportunities that our scale and expertise make possible.”

Urban Atlantic controls land with a planned development pipeline of more than 4M SF, according to the release.

Davis — who received Urban Land Institute's Visionary Leader Award last year and a Bisnow Women Leading Real Estate award — has been the most prominent public face of the development firm and one of the most prominent women developers in the region.

Urban Atlantic's new leaders all previously held roles at the company, some for around two decades.

Snyder, the new CEO, has been managing director of acquisitions at Urban Atlantic for four years after joining the firm from Hoffman & Associates, according to his LinkedIn page.

Brooks and Lederman have spent 18 years and 21 years at the company, respectively, both serving most recently as managing director. Boyd has been with the company for 18 years, including the last nine as CFO.

“We have a talented team, strong investor relationships, and a robust pipeline of projects, and are excited to build on the platform that Vicki, Lois, and Scott have created,“ Snyder said in a statement. “This leadership transition ensures we have the structure and capacity to seize opportunity, while staying true to our mission.”

Urban Atlantic was the fourth-most active developer in the District from 2020 through 2024, according to the Washington D.C. Economic Partnership. The company completed six projects in the District during that span, had two under construction at the start of 2025 and four more in the pipeline.

Most notably, the firm partnered with Hines and Triden Development to redevelop the historic Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Northwest D.C. into a 66-acre development, delivering more than 500 units and a Whole Foods in 2023, with more phases planned.

Urban Atlantic is also behind the redevelopment of the Arthur Capper/Carrollsburg public housing complex in Navy Yard, a 1,600-unit project that was 70% complete as of 2020. It is developing a 93-unit affordable housing project in Friendship Heights.

In Prince George's County, Urban Atlantic has spearheaded the 2.5M SF mixed-use development around the New Carrollton Metro station. It has already completed over 600 housing units and 500K SF of office space there, and the team in December broke ground on a new, 354-unit affordable project.
