AARP and 1776 are looking for tech firms all over the world creating health and wellness solutions for people over 50. Through a new partnership, these startups will get introduced to key AARP affiliates and get help getting their products to the market. Ultimately the partnership helps fuel innovation designed specifically for people over 50 in tech, financial tech, lifestyle, health, health security, financial resilience and personal fulfillment. AARP SVP Jody Holtzman says the partnership also highlights the financial opportunity the 50-plus community has to offer inventors and investors. AARP research found the opportunity could generate $30B in additional revenue for consumer health and wellness within five years. Few DC tech startups have targeted older consumers, yet the AARP study points out that it’s a market with 106 million people.
