Rent the Runway to Georgetown; More On the Way?

Washington, D.C. Retail

Rent the Runway is renting in Georgetown. The women's online service offering high-end fashion and accessories for rent is opening a brick and mortar location at Cady's Alley this fall, building owners Eastbanc and Jamestown announced yesterday. (It joins other showrooms and stores in NYC and Las Vegas.) It will take 4,000 SF at 3336 M St (pictured), where L'Eclat de Verre once operated. Shoppers will be able to rent dresses, gowns, and other accessories and even work with personal stylists, the firms say. H&R Retail's Bradley Buslik and Robert K. Futterman's Justin Fantasia repped the tenant.

There could be more retailers joining Rent the Runway in Eastbanc/Jamestown's Georgetown Renaissance portfolio: the firms say 30,000 SF in new deals are in the works. Eastbanc VP Philippe Lanier tells us the firm is more or less agnostic to the types of tenants, as long as it complements Georgetown: "If it brings more people to the neighborhood, that's a retailer we want."
