Anthony Nader Named Honorary Chair Of 2017 United Cardinal Classic
United Bank has named local businessman Anthony Nader honorary chairman of its 2017 United Cardinal Classic, which benefits Inova Kellar Center and the United Bank Community Fund. Nader is chairman of the Inova Health System board of trustees and managing director of SWaN & Legend Venture Partners, a portfolio of widely diversified investments, including growth-oriented companies, startups, and domestic and international real estate holdings.
United Bank, Washington’s largest community bank with over $13B in assets and over 60 local full-service offices, is introducing the inaugural United Cardinal Classic to continue the rich tradition started in 2002 by recently acquired Cardinal Bank.
The tournament is one of the most successful fundraising initiatives in the region, attracting over 500 business partners and community members annually while raising more than $5.4M for its beneficiaries. The 2017 tournament will take place Oct. 2 at the Country Club of Fairfax in Virginia.
“The United Cardinal Classic is unique among high-profile fundraisers, and I am deeply honored to work alongside United Bank and its tremendous team of volunteers to support Inova Kellar Center,” Nader said. “United Bank’s outstanding community leadership combined with the generosity of community members, business partners, customers and volunteers will make this a successful and special event.”
In addition to his involvement in philanthropic causes, Nader serves on the board of Arlington Asset Investment, Cranemere, Optoro, BigTeams and DuraTap, and is an active adviser for KIND Healthy Snacks.
Nader is vice chairman at Asurion, a company that, in 2008, he successfully merged with his company NEW, at the time the largest global provider of extended service plans for the consumer electronics and appliance industry.
“We are grateful for Tony’s willingness to lend his leadership and energy to the United Cardinal Classic,” tournament Chairman and United Bank Regional President and Director of Sales F. Kevin Reynolds said. “Tony’s philanthropic efforts and community stewardship have had a lasting impact and touched countless lives. His long-standing commitment to the health and well-being of children, families and the larger D.C. metro community make him a perfect fit for our event.”
