Here's What Bethesda Could Look Like Soon

New images created by the Montgomery County Planning Board capture the potential scope of development near the Bethesda Metro station on Wisconsin Avenue.

The images were revealed during a planning board work session by planners working on the Bethesda Downtown Plan. The long-term sector plan will outline building density and height guidelines for the next 20 to 25 years. Among the highlights of the work session, planning staff has proposed a sector plan that would allow for two 290-foot buildings, one at the Bethesda Metro Plaza and one at 7600 Wisconsin Ave.

Each of the last two planning board work sessions has included a property-by-property examination of zoning requests and recommendations. Several property owners have requested zoning that differs from planning board recommendations, ranging from more height and density to a different allocation of density. The next work session on the plan is scheduled for Oct. 29[Bethesda]
