Fairfax Officials Search for Affordable Condo Fix for Tysons

Signs of development in Tysons are apparent everywhere but the building boom has yet to result in more affordably priced residential condominiums. The question of affordability may not have been properly addressed by county planners, but the issue has not gone unnoticed by Fairfax County officials who are searching for a fix.

"If the development community didn't have to worry about that, they could build all high-end luxury this and that and they would fill up all that space," Fairfax County Board of Supervisors chairman Sharon Bulova told the Washington Business Journal. "The affordability of housing is critical."

The county hopes to come out with a plan in the coming months and has begun meeting with developers to try to strike a balance. [WBJ]
