Major DC Law Firm Looking For New Office

Placeholder

As DC office landlords struggle to fill vacant space, one big office tenant is coming onto the market that is sure to attract some attention.

Law firm Williams & Connolly has brought on Savills Studley to explore options to move from its current 289k SF space at Metro Center, the Washington Business Journal reports.

The firm's lease at 725 12th St NW, above, expires in 2022. It will be one of the largest private office tenants on the market at a time when supply is outpacing demand, but it's not the only law firm seeking new space.

King & Spalding is reportedly looking for roughly 120k SF when its lease expires in 2020, and Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld is seeking 240k SF. As with all law firms these days looking for space, the question is not if Williams & Connelly reduces its 289k SF footprint, but by how much. [WBJ]
