JLL to Launch Online Platform

Well, maybe human beings aren't necessary after all. Here's an example of how even the pillars of the industry are disrupting the traditional ways of doing real estate—and an example of why we're holding our Creative Office Revolution event Monday morning.

JLL's Andy O'Brien and Alex Lassar, along with colleague Dave Adams, have helped JLL start a new online business, announced yesterday, aiming to change how small blocks of space are leased. It's called HiRise, and is billed as the first-ever online transactional marketplace for commercial real estate. Landlords can list available space (or even seats, for shared space hubs), and tenants can reserve, plan, and pay for the new digs right on the spot. It's being started in DC with the intention of spreading around the US over the next year. JLL will talk for the first time publicly about it at our event in Crystal City on Monday, also featuring the founders of WeWork and LiquidSpace. More info.
