Kingstowne Towne Center Owner Proposes Four New Residential Buildings

Halle Cos, the owner and developer of Kingstowne Towne Center, has proposed four new residential buildings for its 35-acre mixed-use development. The developer has asked Fairfax County for permission to build the new project on an overflow parking lot on-site.

The buildings would include 800 units and 68k SF of ground-floor retail, a four-level underground parking garage and an enhanced retail plaza. The targeted lot is zoned for 1.2M SF of office space in four buildings, but the developer has not attracted any interest from tenants.

Kingstowne, VA, is the second-largest planned unit development in Northern Virginia and the town will celebrate its 30th anniversary this Saturday with a scheduled party. Development of the Towne Centre began in 2001. It currently houses a 70k SF multiplex, 305k SF of office, and 245k SF of retail and restaurants. [WBJ]
