Douglas Development's H Street Project Gets Approved

Thanks to a final approval by the Zoning Commission on Monday night, Douglas Development has jumped through its last hoop to make the mixed-use project at 501 H St NE a reality. The six-story project will have 25 to 31 residential units with 15k-plus SF of retail on the first and second levels. One of its five ground-level parking spots will be for a car share company, UrbanTurf reports. In exchange for so few parking spaces, residents will receive a $100 SmarTrip card and a one-year BikeShare membership. There will also be a TransitScreen in the lobby, which will display train and bus schedules in real time. [UT]
