Loophole To Shrink Property Taxes
Many of America's largest retailers, including Lowe's, Walmart and Target, have been launching lawsuits against small towns, which often can't afford to fight them, in order to pay less taxes. Using this strategy, called the "dark store loophole," retailers assert their thriving stores should be assigned the same value as vacant stores for tax purposes.
