Douglas Development's Brookland Investment

Jemal’s Channing Place LLC, an affiliate of Douglas Development Corp, will develop a multifamily rental project located at 805 Channing Pl NE with construction financing from EagleBank. An existing, four-story industrial building will be redeveloped,, and a new six-story building will be constructed to provide a total of 295 rental units and a 60-car parking garage. This 2.34-acre site is located in the Brookland neighborhood of DC. Historically industrial, the immediate neighborhood has seen a significant amount of redevelopment. The property is bordered by Brookland to the north, the Anacostia River to the east, Bladensburg Road to the the south and North Capitol Street to the west. One block further to the south at Rhode Island Avenue is a regional shopping complex anchored by Home Depot, Giant Food and TJ Maxx.
