On becoming president: A few years after joining, I recognized that there was an opportunity to have a stronger impact on the direction of the organization. I focused on improving upon and suggesting new events to broaden our area membership, the impact of which has allowed us to show the true value that this organization provides to Greater DC. Getting elected president will now provide me with opportunity to collaborate with other chapters to help improve the entire organization.
