15 Things You Need to Know This Morning

Job: In charge of 2.3M SF of office and business park properties in Columbia, Annapolis, Beltsville and I-270 corridor.
Years on the job: Over 8. 
Company: Total portfolio is 7.8M SF feet in downtown DC and close-in submarkets.
Memorable project: Acquisition and renovation of TenThreeTwenty, a 12-story, 140k SF office tower in downtown Columbia, bought by First Potomac in early 2011. Property was 70% leased and rental rates were in low $20s. Property underwent $8.5M renovation, including creating two-story lobby. At end of Q3, property was 96% leased and rates increased 25%. 
Current project: GSA vacating 540 Gaither Rd., in March ’17. Team working on upgrade plans for interior and common areas and creating unique amenities.
CRE career: Hired by Trammell Crow in ’90 as assistant property manager for Maryland portfolio. At end of ’91, moved to Columbia office and industrial leasing team.
Grew up: Dix Hills, NY (Long Island).
Current home: Ellicott City.
School: Washington College.
First job: Loehmann’s stock boy.
Job in another life: Pro athlete or coach.
Favorite apps: Sonos and Cateye Cycling.
Favorite movie: Lord of the Rings series and The Hobbit.
Favorite restaurants: Capital Grille, Koopers (best burgers) and Tequila Mockingbird (Ocean City).
Favorite band/song: Led Zeppelin—“Stairway to Heaven.”
Favorite vacation spot: St. Johns.
Hidden talent: Can recite all 50 states in alphabetical order.
Coast, desert, mountain: Coast.
Bucket list: Ski trip in Europe.
Family: Married to Sharon 24 years; Son and daughter are college freshmen, another son is HS sophomore; and a black lab.  
Hobbies: Triathlons, skiing, hunting, fishing and golf.
Startling fact: Played four years of basketball in college and was co-captain two years. Team made Division III NCAA tournament twice and went to Sweet 16 during senior year.
