15 Things You Need to Know This Morning

What You Didn’t Know About Nick Zuppas

Title: Principal, Gittleson Zuppas Commercial Realty.
Job: Represents healthcare/medical tenants and landlords.
Years on the job: 25.
Company: Represent 4M SF of medical space in over 50 buildings throughout DC metro. Represent national tenants and done deals in NY, Pennsylvania and New Jersey and have pending deals in Orlando and Chicago. 
Current project: Working for regional client exploring locations in Chicago and Orlando. Seeing interesting dynamic between mid-west, urban Chicago and Walt Disney sprawl of Orlando. Fundamental of negotiating the deal are the same in any area.
CRE career: Started at Studley in Bethesda in late ‘80s and met business partner David Gittleson and wife. Opened firm with David in ’90.
Grew up: Upper NW DC, 13th and Holly Streets, near Walter Reed. 
Childhood memory: Spending summers in Ocean City, Md.
Current home: Darnestown, MD.
Schools: St John’s College HS and American University.
First job: Washing dishes at father’s restaurant, Kitty Hawk Saloon, in Ocean City. (Father also owned Cagney’s off Dupont Circle.)
Job in another life: Own a gold mine to work in the summers.
Daily habit: Driving with top down (when temp is 40 or more) and enjoying a “nice” cigar. 
Favorite apps: Shazam and Waze.
Favorite movies: The Searchers, Apocalypse Now, Rudy, Caddyshack and The Godfather I and II (not III). 
Favorite restaurant: Morton’s of Chicago. 
Favorite music: AC/DC and Otis Reading.
Favorite vacation spot: Bethany Beach house.
Bucket list: Hunting all around the world–visited South Africa in April with wife and kids. 
Family: Married 18 years to Jennifer; twin boy and girl (15) and two Bichon Frises.
Hobbies: All types of hunting. 
Startling fact: Worked in a gold mine in the Yukon during the summers of ’85 and ’86.
