Job: Growing development platform in DC, with a focus on condo, apartment and retail in transformative, urban neighborhoods and around region. 
Years on the job: 3.
Company: 1.9M SF of office, retail and hotel in DC metro; 87 employees (13 in DC); 51 property assets in North America (12 in DC area); over $2b in assets under management.
Memorable project: Jefferson Village – single family development (400 homes on 88 acres) in Southeast Detroit with ancillary retail. Started in ’96 and still going. Considered largest subdivision in Detroit since WWII. Learned community outreach, political strategy and project management from the project.
Current projects: Capitol Riverfront project – 325 apartments, 170-room Residence Inn and 25k SF of retail. Also, will soon start residential mixed-use project in Silver Spring.
CRE career: Started in public sector as planner in metro Detroit.
Grew up: Detroit (Go Tigers!).
Current home: Chevy Chase, DC.
Why DC: Wanted to live in a dynamic city and had opportunity to lead Grosvenor’s development team.
Schools: Michigan State University (economics), The Ohio State University (MBA, finance/real estate).
First job: Pizza maker.
Job in another life: Whitewater raft guide.
Daily habit: Kiss kids good-night.
Favorite app: United Airlines.
Favorite movie: Breakfast Club.

Favorite singer and song: Madonna – Holiday (“Don’t judge.)
Favorite vacation spot: Anywhere for backcountry camping.
Guilty pleasure: Gummy bears on a flight.
Bucket list: Raft and camp the Grand Canyon.
Family: Married to Lisa Mitchell 11 years; daughter (10) and son (8).
Hobbies: DIY mechanic, motorcycling and backcountry camping.
Startling fact: Graduated from whitewater guide school in 2011.
