What You Don't Know About Kim Burke

Job: Help federal agencies identify and implement real estate strategies. Team of about a dozen is in the middle of 10-12 live engagements at any given time. 
Memorable project: Helped VA analyze its portfolio of hospitals and medical clinics to decide where and when to request funding for new facilities.
Current passion: Serve as national leader for JLL’s Women’s Business Network, connecting over 2,800 women members and opening the door for the next generation of women at the company.
Grew up: Bethel Park, Penn.
Current home: McLean.
Why DC: Followed sister after graduating college. 
Schools: UVA and University of Texas at Austin (MBA).
First job: Worked on supplemental appropriations and federal credit budget at CBO and then chief of federal credit policy crew at OMB.
Why CRE career: Inspired by grandfather, Earl D. Hollinshead Sr., who was president of ULI (’68-’70) and worked for Galbreath Company, which merged with JLL in 1997. (Who else can say they worked at the same company as their grandfather?)
Job in another life: Opera singer like mom, who sang in Pittsburgh Opera.
Daily habit: Spin class.
Favorite apps: Snapchat and Instagram.
Favorite movies: While You Were Sleeping and Love Actually.
Favorite restaurant: Morton’s.
Favorite music: Beatles and Talking Heads.
Favorite vacation spot: Paris with kids.
Hobbies: Fly to Charlotte six times a year to attend daughter’s college orchestra concerts.
Guilty pleasure: Repeatedly riding “Soarin’” at EPCOT. 
Bucket list: Sleep over with family in Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom.
Family: Married 32 years; Son and daughter.
Startling fact: Sang with sister, a professional musician, at Kennedy Center, and will return to CBO Chorus (as alum) to sing at CBO 40th anniversary reception.
