The parent company of luxury grocer Dean & DeLuca has reduced the retailer's footprint from 42 to 18 locations as it battles lawsuits from suppliers that claim they haven’t been paid. The company is also pulling back rapidly from an ambitious expansion plan. It recently backed out of a planned opening at a JBG Smith development in Bethesda.
