The apartments High Street Residential is building at the intersection of 15th and U Streets NW are beginning to come into focus.

The developer has released new renderings of the project's 288-unit market rate component, UrbanTurf reports.

The development will have one tower with 96 affordable apartments and a second tower with 288 market-rate units. The market-rate tower is being built by a JV of Trammell Crow/High Street Residential and Deutsche Asset Management, while Somerset Development, Jonathan Rose Cos. and New Community Partners are partnering on the affordable component.

The 11-story market-rate tower, branded as Sonnet, will also have 15k SF of ground-floor retail. CBRE is marketing the retail space in hopes of finding a chef-driven restaurant concept.

The building is expected to deliver in summer 2018. The displaced residents of the 48-unit affordable housing building previously on the site will be relocated to the newly constructed affordable tower. [UT]
