Another Development Enters Union Market Pipeline

Placeholder

The Union Market development pipeline continues to grow.

New York-based Ranger Properties has filed plans for a hotel and residential development in the burgeoning area. The project will be at 400 Florida Ave NE, with both components adjacent to one another and fronting Florida Avenue, Urban Turf reports.

SK+I Architecture has been tasked with design for the project, which is slated to include a 110-unit apartment building and a 164-room hotel. Paris-based MOB Hotels has signed on as the operator of the hotel, which will house a live stage, an outdoor theater, a library, and vegetable gardens on the roof.

We’ve seen an extensive amount of development planned for the red-hot Union Market area. Earlier this year, LCOR filed plans for a residential and retail project at a site adjacent to Gallaudet University. Just up the road from Ranger’s proposal, Ditto Residential and Zusin Development have filed plans for a 56-unit residential building at 301 Florida Ave NE, which will feature larger, family-sized units. [UT]
