The Hotel at the University of Maryland Brings New Businesses

The Hotel at the University of Maryland, set to open in January 2017, will bring with it four new businesses. The 297-room hotel will house a Franklins Oyster Bar and Grill, Potomac Pizza, Bagels 'n Grinds and Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa. Potomac Pizza—with locations in Chevy Chase, Potomac, Rockville and Gaithersburg—has been around since 1978. It's managed by Restaurant Zone, which also manages Bagels 'n Grinds, a coffee shop that is described by Restaurant Zone founder and president Adam Greenberg as "a bagel place on steroids," reports the U of M Diamondback. The shop will offer soups, salads and sandwiches. Meanwhile, the 105-year-old Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa has 29 locations nationwide. The Hotel at the University of Maryland will feature a rooftop banquet facility and veranda with views of the university's campus, 43k SF of meeting space for up to 1,500 guests, an indoor/outdoor pool and a fitness center.
