Petersons Sell National Harbor Hotel

Jon and Milt Peterson might be able to afford a few more merry-go-round rides. Their Peterson Cos has agreed to sell National Harbor's Aloft Hotel to Ryman Hospitality Group, in a deal expected to close by the end of the year. In documents Ryman filed yesterday, the Nashville-based company—which owns the Gaylord National Resort at National Harbor—will pay Peterson $21.8M. Ryman will also re-brand the hotel (with a Marriott flag) and operate the property in conjunction with the Gaylord.

Speaking of National Harbor—the development's Sunset Room is the site of our annual Future of Prince George's County event Aug. 26. We'll have packed panels of the biggest stakeholders, including WMATA's Stan Wall, University of Maryland's Brian Darmody, and Southern Management CEO David Hillman. It's an afternoon event, and following the program we're holding one of our signature Schmoozaramas. More info.
