Lord & Taylor Plans to Appeal $31M White Flint Judgment

Lord & Taylor is appealing the $31M it was awarded by a jury in the case against the owners of White Flint Mall.

The retailer believes it deserves more, and will file a cross-appeal arguing that there were details in its case that the jury wasn't allowed to consider.

A statement issued by attorney Michelle Gambino of Greenberg Traurig describes one such consideration as the question of whether or not White Flint committed fraud by telling Lord & Taylor representatives they weren't making changes to the mall. The statement claims the owners were secretly getting rid of other mall tenants to advance it's redevelopment plans.

The mall's owners are also appealing the ruling, arguing that the jury wasn't able to consider how much money Lord & Taylor stood to gain with a redeveloped White Flint. [WBJ]
