Pro-Israel Lobby Group Proposes Major Expansion of H Street HQ

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the nation’s largest pro-Israel lobbying group, has proposed a major expansion of its East End HQ.

AIPAC has been located at 251 H St. NW, a seven-story, 88k SF building since February 2008. The company has grown during that timeframe from 125 to 220 employees and anticipates reaching 300 employees in the next five years, Washington Business Journal reports. Plans call for a two-story addition to the existing building and the construction of an eight-story office tower next door. AIPAC hopes to begin construction, which will be completed in two phases, within two years of approval. Perkins + Will has been tasked with design of the new digs.

Not too far away, Property Group Partners has started construction on Capitol Crossing. The $1.3B project will span 2.2M SF and include office, residential and retail. Capitol Crossing is expected to be completed in 2021[WBJ]
