Westbank Corp owner Ian Gillespie is donating 12 fully furnished and stocked downtown apartments to serve as temporary accommodation for Syrian refugees. The builder (seen with Bocci creative director Omer Arbelbehind, designer of public art at Westbank’s Fairmont Pacific Rim), has offered the units to the Immigrant Services Society of BC for a first stop for families arriving in the city until more permanent housing is found. The company says it's been overwhelmed by the "immense outpouring of support" it's received for the program and plans several food and clothing drives this Sunday.
