For the sixth year in a row, Bay Street is Canada's most expensive corridor for office space leasing, according to JLL. While average rent decreased slightly from $68.19/SF in 2015 to $67.31 in 2016, Bay between Front and King streets still outranks all other Canadian locations. Vancouver’s Burrard Street is the nation’s second most expensive office-lease street: $57.81/SF. The “demand and prestige” of leasing in Toronto's financial district has consistently propelled Bay to the top of JLL's list, CEO Brett Miller said, noting the difference between the city’s average office rent and leasing on Bay is more than half.
