BILD Balks At Ontario's Proposed Growth Plan Changes

Proposed amendments to Ontario’s Growth Plan and an expansion of the greenbelt will result in homebuyers seeing “more intensification, more condos, less choice and higher prices,” says Building Industry Land and Development association (BILD) president Bryan Tuckey. The changes, proposed by the province earlier this week, would require at least 60% of new residential development each year to be within existing built-up areas of a municipality. Ontario's also looking to increase density targets for designated greenfield areas in cities to at least 80 people and jobs per hectare.
