CI, CBRE Partner On Global Real Estate Fund

CI Institutional Asset Management just launched a real estate fund in partnership with CBRE Global Investment Partners, giving high-net-worth investors and smaller Canadian institutions exposure to a U.S.$2B portfolio of 1,900 properties in 20 countries. The CI Global Private Real Estate Fund, a Canadian-based trust, will invest indirectly in units of CBRE Global Investment Partners Global Alpha Fund. That fund's holdings include retail, office, logistical and residential properties, a portfolio CBRE Global Investment Partners chief information officer Ian Gleeson said was previously only accessible by sovereign wealth funds.
