Midtown Atlanta Evolves Into Vibrant Ecosystem Of Innovation

Midtown is the second-biggest business district in Atlanta and is quickly becoming the heart of the city’s tech industry, attracting companies like SPACES, the original European co-working concept. It unites the listeners, challengers, influencers, partners and prospects of Midtown, further enhancing its image as a prime business destination.

The evolution of Midtown begins with the people, the talent, the potential employees. Midtown is enticing Millennials with cultural attractions, universities, appealing architecture and an easily navigable urban layout.

Known as Atlanta’s “Heart of the Arts,” its attractions include the Fox Theatre, High Museum of Art and the Center for Puppetry Arts, among others.

Next, experiential retail is reinvigorating the area. Atlanta’s Midtown Mile runs along Peachtree Street and features a diverse array of retail and restaurants, bringing visitors and locals alike to boutique shops.

The area’s dilapidated industrial assets are being converted into hip mixed-use developments complete with condos and trendy restaurants, amenities critical to supporting a commercial office market. The area already hosts a thriving community of digital agencies and tech startups, including animation studio Bento Box Entertainment, e-commerce startup Scoutmob, manufacturing tech startup SoftWear Automation and information security firm CodeGuard.

New plans for Technology Square were recently announced, a place comprised of office space, hotels, a conference center, Georgia Tech’s business school and student housing, along with innovation centers and corporate offices. Atlanta-based Carter plans to renovate the former J.C. Penney regional headquarters and transform it into an outpost for startup tech companies that want proximity to Tech Square.

The interest of co-working provider SPACES was similarly piqued (its Menlo Park office interior is shown above). Founded in Amsterdam, SPACES brings creative, European designed co-working to America, appealing to everyone from the suit-and-tie Fortune 500 to t-shirt clad freelancers.

SPACES emphasizes wide-open collaborative areas, but also offers team rooms, meeting rooms, and fully furnished private offices. A virtual tour of its Long Island City location, pictured below, is accessible here, and registration for the August 24th "Taste of Success" Atlanta networking event in the brand new facility is now open.

Everyone wants a place to work that is dynamic, buzzing and packed with perks, which at SPACES includes 24/7 access, flexible terms, networking lunches and events with sought-after speakers, contemporary interior and furniture, auxiliary equipment, discounts at local establishments and more. Companies also have access to Regus workspaces in over 3,500 locations across the globe. To learn more about SPACES, click here.
